The Beach at Night on a Holiday
can be a Scary Place.
Or rather, an amusing one.
Stymied for something to do and with a serious want to hoop, I grabbed an old friend that I had a slightly creepy history with and hauled over to the beach. He did some sort of stick juggling and I hooped and all was well until the drunk people came. They were rambunctious, and I taught two of them to hoop. Sort of.
The one floundered about, dropping flat onto the sand and disregarding the space of the hoop to his balls's detriment. Then a few minutes later he came charging out of the ocean, straight at me, and pulled his boxers (swim trunks?) down around his knees.
His penis was small. The internet needed to know.
I moved out of the way, still spinning my hoop.
It was ridiculously easy to engineer some excuse to get my hoops back, and get them far away, and run up the long stairs and back to my car, my friend(?) in tow.
At least I got some good hooping in!

Yes... I do know it all.
Today was the fourth of July and I had it off from work - yay holidays I feel ambivalent about! I got into one of those introspective moods where you feel the space of a year very clearly - I remembered quite clearly where I was last year at the same time, and it made me want even more to start on my personal inventory. I haven't yet - I keep putting it off because I've been hitting the distraction and escapist outlets pretty hard lately.
Breaking the habit of a relationship is not hard exactly, I don't want to say it is hard, that gives it waaaay too much power. It is kinda hard though. I sometimes miss the feelings that went with knowing someone was there. But I don't miss HIM that much at all. I was actually relieved when I heard he had hopped into another relationship soon after, because it meant he wouldn't show up at the bars I was at like a fucking creepy stalker.
Hmm. I am not unaffected. Certainly. But I am less unaffected than I had feared, after a year and three months of being with someone. And so much happier!
I think I'm going to go hoop on the beach tonight.

Excercise Log - Running Nostalgia
I ran/walked my favorite path today, watched the sunset and the waves and the fire jugglers and people walking dogs. Particularly full of memory, I remember long ago running along this path in an ill prepared for half marathon. A little more recently, walking, talking and pretending to run with my good friend who moved and who I miss very much.
Took about eighty minutes of hard walking and some jogging. About right for 6 miles. Feels good, and I am going to start doing this at least three times a week. And every time I will do one more set of stairs!

Seventy-six Hours...
...of work this week between my two jobs. Ow. Next week, only seventy. After that, a relieving fifty.
Office job is in hospitality but has a high probability for at least my level of gothy.
Manual labor job is getting old. OLD I tell you. A few weeks more and I can quit.
Sadness. Breaking up with boyfriend Sunday or Monday. Love him, but not enough to make the space in my life to keep him. I could say "plenty of other fish" but for now I'm putting away my rod n' reel, and focusing on adventure.
Self inventory is about to happen. First step is easy. I am going to simply record physical locations, order and dates.
Funny about synchronicity. I asked the universe for a few more strong and unique female role models. They have manifested.
Also have manifested: Trees, a larger room with a less shared bathroom, shelves and more kitchen use, more skinny-ness, perfectly priced exercise hoops, a running partner, and a great feeling of well-being.
On the list: More money than I can use, clear, pale, perfect skin, a higher degree of skinny-ness, tidiness in my areas, a few certain pairs of shoes, a pair of black pants cut long enough to wear my four inch BCBG heels with, a few more discussion partners, platonic cuddle buddies of any gender closer than my current ones, more JOY!!!, and more.
I will be putting together a board with pictures of stuff and things I want, and be deciding about some of the more important things, like jobs, partner(s?), car, education, living space, ect. I've been writing stories about stuff in my life I'd like to see and experience.
Right now, my life feels right. I'm making the choices that feel good, that I feel good about, and I feel like everything is coming together.
